In this song, the great vocal abilities of Sinead O’Conor are too perfectly combined with extreme passion, creating a music masterpiece; Nothing Compares 2 U has and will continue to be one of the greatest songs of all times. Billboard named it as the "#1 World Single" of 1990.

But who is Sinead O’Conor? Well, in few words I would say that she is a great singer and a unique person. She has changed religions, eventually devoting herself to Islam and changing her name to Shuhada' Sadaqat. She has an ambiguous sexuality, and has reported herself as duke. She is a firm supporter of men-women equality, and fights for child abuse and war.
Her sudden religious transition, is quite rare. It reminds me Cat Steven’s (or Usuf Islam’s) turn to Muslim. Both great singers, passionate musicians, fighters of human rights and eventually Muslims. That is the great thing with music. Every artist comes from a different country, from a different religion and has a different perspective of life. One can change his beliefs, his views, his citizenship. But there is one single thing that combines them all, and works as a bonding mechanism between people of different cultures. And that's music!
