WOMEN IN SCIENCES

I grew up reading about Marie Curie and her contributions to science. She is an extraordinary scientist who is the only person to win 2 Nobel Prizes (Physics & Chemistry) and the first woman Nobel Prize Winner. She was the first proof of the equality of sexes in sciences, and one of the reasons why I engaged in physics.

Women in the Faculty (WiF) now also for students - University of Amsterdam

Later I learned about hundreds of women scientists and their worth-mentioning accomplishments. We shouldn't forget that during their research path they were deprived of basic education (rejected from universities because of their sex), fundings, cooperation, etc. Thus, the fact that they achieved to revolutionize sciences deserves double praise.

In this effort of supporting equality in sciences, WOMEN IN SCIENCES (part of blog's project: STOP RACISM IN SCIENCES AND MUSIC), promotes multiple examples of women physicists, mathematicians, chemists, engineers, etc and supports the equality of men and women.

Marguerite Rawalt (lawyer and supporter of female rights) once said:

"The world needs scientists, engineers - and if a brain is qualified to do such work, it should be encouraged, not smothered because it is a female brain"
